Redondo Beach will host the upcoming “Cruisin’ 2 Freedom” fundraiser concert and car show at Seaside Lagoon in January. This event, which highlights the fight against human trafficking and drug addiction, comes at a crucial time as January is recognized as Human Trafficking Awareness Month. The concert is part of a series of fundraising efforts by In-N-Out and will include hundreds of classic cars showcased against the scenic backdrop of the beach, directly across from the Cabo Wabo Beach Club.

The fundraiser features a range of dinner options including meals from an In-N-Out Burger cookout truck, Two Doughs Pizza Company, Tacos 1986, and Afters ice cream. One hundred percent of the proceeds raised during the event will go towards the Slave 2 Nothing Foundation, which is dedicated to addressing issues of human trafficking and drug addiction. In the United States, California and Texas have the highest number of trafficking cases, with a total of 16,710 unique cases reported in 2021, according to the National Human Trafficking Hotline.

The Cruisin’ 2 Freedom event will also include a live auction, featuring enticing offerings such as a week at a resort in Norway, a scenic train ride through Canada, and tickets for a concert by Shakira. Among the past auction items was a custom In-N-Out cooler with a unique screaming eagle design.

Previously, the Cruisin’ 2 Freedom events have been staged at various locations, including the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa and Huntington Beach. The Seaside Lagoon venue has hosted well-known events like the BeachLife Festival and is available for bookings during the offseason, despite being closed until May 23.

In-N-Out has been actively contributing to fundraising efforts with a focus on community support. Their recent concert fundraiser, “Rock 2 Freedom,” raised an impressive $934,700 to benefit the Slave 2 Nothing Foundation. Additionally, throughout January, In-N-Out restaurants will continue to collect funds to support this cause by placing donation canisters on counters, with the company pledging to match contributions three-to-one, up to $300,000.

In-N-Out is undergoing significant changes, including the announcement that heiress Lynsi Snyder’s family is relocating to Tennessee. The iconic burger chain, which was founded in Baldwin Park over 75 years ago by Harry and Esther Snyder, is expanding its operations with new locations in states like Arizona, Colorado, and Washington. By 2030, In-N-Out plans to move its headquarters back to Baldwin Park while simultaneously establishing offices in Tennessee and building new restaurants in that state.

The chain has been involved in other charitable events as well, including a Tough Mudder Challenge fundraiser held at Big Bear Lake last September, and a concert at the Hollywood Palladium featuring performances from prominent artists like Papa Roach.

As anticipation builds for the “Cruisin’ 2 Freedom” fundraiser in Redondo Beach, community members and car enthusiasts alike are encouraged to participate in this meaningful event, which serves both to raise awareness and funds for crucial social issues.
