Shortly after 2 p.m., the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) responded to a battery call. Upon arrival, officers found McLaughlin unconscious, with a 911 caller stating that an argument had preceded the violent altercation between her and her manager. Eyewitness accounts revealed that the manager had sat on McLaughlin, preventing her from breathing.
As the situation escalated, family members have accused the manager of bullying McLaughlin at work, including pulling her hair on the day of the incident.
