Los Angeles is experiencing a culinary renaissance with a series of restaurant openings that cater to diverse palates. These establishments have opened between late April and late May 2025, promising to offer locals and visitors a variety of fresh dining experiences.
Among the latest additions is Badash Bakes, which opened on April 29 on Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena. This bakery serves an array of baked goods, including traditional matcha cinnamon rolls and coffee. Following a successful soft launch bolstered by the owner’s strong TikTok following, Badash Bakes is set to hold its grand opening celebration on May 31, 2025.
On May 8, Baby Bistro transitioned from a pop-up to a permanent dining spot in Chinatown. This restaurant focuses on seasonal ingredients sourced directly from local farmer’s markets, ensuring a fresh and vibrant menu.
Adding to the city’s barbecue culture, AC Barbeque, founded by comedians Anthony Anderson and Cedric the Entertainer, opened on May 7. This establishment offers smoked meats inspired by Southern traditions and the duo’s television show “King of BBQ”.

Additionally, Marathon Burger, run by rapper Nipsey Hussle’s brother, opened a second location in Venice Beach, serving its popular smash burgers. J Korean Restaurant in Koreatown is also noteworthy, offering hanjeongsik, a traditional multi-course Korean dining experience.
